2011 Fantasy Football Studs
Stud: A NFL player who has proved himself to be a top scoring player at his position. These players should be started each week regardless of match-up and should only be benched during bye weeks and significant injuries. From our Fantasy Football Dictionary
Our writers have classified the following players as studs for 2011. We will be updating this list throughout the pre-season.
| Name | Pos | Team | Age | Yrs Exp. |
Pos. Rank |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tom Brady | QB | NE | 34 | 11 | QB - #3 |
| If you think of the receivers for the Patriots last year (not one with over 1000 yards), you would think Brady might have had trouble putting up big numbers. Moss was traded in the middle of the season, Welker was coming off serious off-season surgery, Deion Branch (who hadn't done anything since leaving New England) was brought in, and the rest of the bunch were r... | Drew Brees |
QB | NO | 33 | 10 | QB - #2 |
| Drew Brees will lead the New Orleans Saints' high powered offense into the 2011 season. Brees is coming off a good statistical season in which he threw for more than 4600 yards with 33 touchdowns and a career high 22 interceptions. Brees should cut down on the interceptions this season and continue to be a high end fantasy quarterback. Brees is extremely durable, a... Read More | |||||
| Peyton Manning | QB | DEN | 36 | 13 | QB - #11 |
| Peyton Manning enters the 2011 season as one of the league's top fantasy players. While Manning is our fourth ranked fantasy quarterback at the moment, he has always been one of the most durable and consistent fantasy players in the league. Manning has not missed a start in his 12 year career, and has never finished a season without at least 28 total touchdowns. Ma... Read More | |||||
| Philip Rivers | QB | SD | 30 | 7 | QB - #10 |
| Rivers is a stud quarterback. Look at the numbers -- over 4700 yards passing and 30 touchdowns last season. Rivers has an arsenal of weapons at his disposal and needs to take better advantage of the quality players surrounding him. With Jackson, Gates, Floyd and others as targets, there is no excuse that Rivers does not produce a winning season and solid playoff ru... Read More | |||||
| Aaron Rodgers | QB | GB | 28 | 6 | QB - #1 |
For three years Aaron Rodgers has proven all of the doubters wrong, and there should not be any left now that he has a ring. Since he became the starter of the Packers, Rodgers has been a superb fantasy quarterback and there is little reason to think he will not be again this year. If anything, Rodgers could be even better. The Packers... Read More | |||||
| Tony Romo | QB | DAL | 32 | 8 | QB - #7 |
| Considering Romo's season ended way back in week 7 last season, it might be easy to forget how productive the Cowboys passer had been. Don't. Few quarterbacks have as many weapons to play with as the newly-married Romo, who threw for at least 4,200 yards in his last two full seasons and at least 26 touchdown passes per campaign over the previous three seasons. Sure... Read More | |||||
| Michael Vick | QB | PHI | 31 | 10 | QB - #8 |
| Now that's what you call a comeback. After spending time in prison and being largely ignored (with good reason) in fantasy drafts, Michael Vick exploded back onto the scene in 2010 -- being the player who more than others led his trusting owners to championship glory. From the moment he took over for the injured Kevin Kolb, Vick showed his elusive legs were back, h... Read More | |||||
