2012 Fantasy Football Studs
Stud: A NFL player who has proved himself to be a top scoring player at his position. These players should be started each week regardless of match-up and should only be benched during bye weeks and significant injuries. From our Fantasy Football Dictionary
Our writers have classified the following players as studs for 2012. We will be updating this list throughout the pre-season.
| Name | Pos | Team | Age | Yrs Exp. |
Pos. Rank |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vernon Davis | TE | SF | 29 | 6 | TE - #3 |
| Davis dominated down the stretch last season, but people are starting to wonder if there are enough footballs to go around now in San Francisco. We say yes. This offensive philosophy leans heavily on the TE and teams now have to play Davis straight up. They can't afford to double him or blanket him with a corner the way they did at the start of last season. Against... Read More | |||||
| Jermichael Finley | TE | GB | 26 | 4 | TE - #19 |
| There seems to be a perception out there that Jermichael Finley should be having a better career. Gronk set all sorts of records last season, including most yards (1327) and most TDs (17) in a single season, to go along with his 90 receptions. Gronk i... Read More | |||||
| Aaron Hernandez | TE | NE | 23 | 2 | TE - #5 |
| On any other team Hernandez would be getting much more acclaim, but playing alongside Rob Gronkowski doesn't allow for that. Regardless, Hernandez is still a top 5 fantasy TE; no reason his numbers won't stay the same or rise a little.
Update 8-11-2012 - While Hernandez will be the #2 TE on the roster, he will see the field as often as Gronk. Look for the P... Read More | |||||
