Hopefully this is the last time I will have to mention Reggie Wayne in this column, but he continues to be one of the best bargains in Yahoo! Salary Cap football this season. His value has been on the rise since he was first featured in Week 1, but at $10.29, he is still undervalued when you consider the fact that he has been targeted 25 times (T-2nd most in the NFL) and reeled in 15 passes for 206 yards and a score in two weeks.
With Austin Collie out with a concussion, Wayne will continue to see a barrage of targets from rookie quarterback Andrew Luck and should be a solid option for salary cap owners to consider using for the remainder of the season.
The strategy that many fantasy and salary cap owners (myself included) employ these days is to invest in one of the elite options at tight end. If you have done so, then there is no reason to drop a Rob Gronkowski or Jimmy Graham in a salary cap league, but if you have skimped on the position to re-invest elsewhere, then Jermaine Gresham is an intriguing matchup play for Week 3 and a bargain at the Yahoo! Salary Cap price of $7.77, down $0.23 from the previous week.
23 different tight ends have scored a touchdown through the first two weeks of the season, which affirms the commonly held belief that the position is tremendously deep for fantasy purposes, however Gresham is one of the few tight ends that has yet to find the end zone. That all could change in Week 3 thanks to a tasty matchup against the Washington Redskins, who have served up the second most fantasy points to tight ends (including a pair of touchdowns) through two weeks.
