Week 11: Game Time Decisions - Injury Update
TE Owen Daniels, HOU
The 30 year old TE has matched his career high for TDs (5) and is averaging an impressive 60 YPG. Daniels sat out the week 10 win over Chicago with a hip injury, but returned for Wednesday's practice and appears likely to suit up for this week's matchup with Jacksonville. The Jags' pass defense ranks 23rd --allowing 252 YPG--, but they have been stingy to opposing TEs (allow 2nd fewest fantasy PPG to tight ends and have yet to allow a TD). In the week 2 meeting with the Jags, Daniels finished with 6 catches for 47 yards, but was held out of the end zone.
TE Aaron Hernandez, NE
The 3rd year TE from Florida has only been in uniform for 4 games this season thanks to a pesky ankle injury. Hernandez was on many breakout lists heading into 2012, but those that reached for him in the early rounds have been forced to resort to backup options. He has just 17 catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns in 2012, but makes for a solid buy low target considering he averaged 65 YPG with 7 TDs last season. Hernandez is expected to return for the week 11 matchup against an Indianapolis defense that surprisingly allows the fewest fantasy PPG to opposing TEs (allow an average of 27 YPG with just 1 TD on the season). We are guessing those averages will go up after a matchup with the Gronk and Hernandez.
