Week 12: Game Time Decisions - Injury Update
WR Julio Jones, ATL
JJ entered the week 11 game with Arizona battling an ankle injury which he re-aggravated in the 4th quarter. He finished with just 3 catches for 33 yards and his week 12 status for a dream matchup with Tampa's league worst pass defense is in jeopardy. Jones played just under 50% of the snaps in week 11 and the Falcons may decide to give him a week to rest to ensure their WR corps is healthy for the playoffs. Harry Douglas could get the week 12 start opposite Roddy White and would be worth considering as a flex play in PPR leagues against a Buc defense allowing the 2nd most fantasy PPG to opposing WRs.
TE Aaron Hernandez, NE
With Rob Gronkowski expected to miss 4-6 weeks following surgery on his broken arm, Aaron Hernandez will need to man up for the Thursday night game against the Jets. The 3rd year TE from Florida has only been in uniform for 4 games this season thanks to a pesky ankle injury. Hernandez was on many breakout lists heading into 2012, but those that reached for him in the early rounds have been forced to resort to backup options. He has just 17 catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns in 2012, but makes for a solid buy low target considering he averaged 65 YPG with 7 TDs last season. The Jets' 4th ranked pass defense (200 YPG) surprisingly allows the 7th most fantasy PPG to opposing TEs (allow an average of 53 YPG and 6 TDs on the season).
