Week 14: Game Time Decisions - Injury Update
WR Cecil Shorts, JAX
The 2nd year WR from Mount Union has been one of the more pleasant surprises at the WR psotion this season as he's averaging 68 YPG with 7 TDs. The Jags' leading WR suffered a week 13 concussion and is a major question mark for the matchup with the New York Jets. Shorts has apparently passed concussion tests, but is still feeling symptoms. He's shaping up as a potential game time decision and owners should look elsewhere as the matchup against the Jets' 4th ranked pass defense (198 YPG) is far from favorable. Justin Blackmon is likely to get the Cromartie treatment and should be avoided.
TE Dustin Keller, MIA
The 5th year TE from Purdue suffered an ankle injury during last week's 7-6 win over Arizona and was absent from Wednesday's practice, leaving his week 14 status in doubt. On the season, Keller is averaging just 40 YPG and has only found the end zone twice. With the musical chairs under center, it is difficult to trust any members of the Jets passing game. On a side note, Mark Sanchez is expected to reclaim the starting QB job for the week 14 matchup with a struggling Jacksonville defense that is ranked 28th against the pass (261 YPG).
