Week 15: Game Time Decisions - Injury Update
WR Cecil Shorts, JAX
The 2nd year WR from Mount Union has been one of the more pleasant surprises at the WR position this season as he's averaging 68 YPG with 7 TDs. The Jags' leading WR suffered a week 13 concussion that kept him in street clothes for week 14. Shorts has been cleared from his concussion and is expected to return to the lineup for this week's matchup with a Miami defense allowing the fewest PPG to WRs over the past 5 weeks. In a somewhat difficult matchup and a risk to be knocked from the game with any hit to the head, fantasy owners should consider your alternatives before penciling Shorts into your lineup.
Injury Status: Injured ReserveTE Brandon Pettigrew, DET
The 4th year TE is averaging 43 YPG with three touchdowns, but appears to be very questionable for week 15 after missing Thursday's practice with an ankle injury. Veteran Tony Scheffler saw 9 targets in the week 14 loss to Green Bay, but finished with just three catches for 20 yards (did score his first TD of the season). This week Detroit faces an Arizona defense that has allowed the 5th most fantasy PPG to opposing tight ends, which makes Scheffler a solid option for fantasy owners looking to replace Jared Cook or Brent Celek (both have been ruled out for week 15).
