Week 17: Game Time Decisions - Injury Update
WR Mike Wallace, MIA
With the Steelers eliminated from playoff contention and free agency on the horizon, its highly unlikely that 60 Minutes will risk further injury in a meaningless week 17 game against the Browns. Wallace suffered a hip injury in the week 16 loss to the Bengals and will likely finish his 2012 season with 64 catches for 838 yards (55 YPG) and eight touchdowns. One of the premier deep threats in the game should have a multitude of suitors once free agency begins. For this week, expect Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown to get the start against Cleveland's 25th ranked pass defense.
Injury Status: Injured ReserveTE Vernon Davis, SF
The 28 year old Maryland alum was knocked from the Sunday Night week 16 loss in Seattle after sustaining a concussion on a goal-line hit from Seahawks S Kam Chancellor. He missed Wednesday's practice, but head coach Jim Harbaugh has yet to rule him out for the matchup with Arizona. Delanie Walker figures to get the start unless VD has a quick turnaround. Walker posted his best game of the season, hauling in four passes for 54 yards and a touchdown after Davis left the game but remains just a TE2 option this week as the 49ers figure to employ a run heavy approach against an outmanned Arizona team.
