Week 16: Pickups of the Week

RSS

Waiver Wire Watch: Week 16

As we head into Week 16, most head to head type leagues are in the playoffs at this point and most leagues have already stopped allowing free agent pickups, but if your league is still allowing pickups, then here are some possible pickups that might still be available in your league...

MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%

It appears Todd Collins will be the starter for Washington with Jason Campbell expected to miss the next few games (and possibility the rest of the season). He was 15 of 20 for 224 yards, plus 2 TDs in relief of Campbell in the win over Chicago. On Sunday night, he was only 8 of 25 for 166 yards, with 0 TDs in the upset win over the Giants. Collins should be the starter again this week versus Minnesota's #32 pass defense, so if you are very desperate for a QB play, he could be worth picking up simply based on the matchup.

MyFantasyLeague availability: 73.93%

The rookie QB from Stanford has led the Bills to wins in two out of the last three games after being renamed their starting QB. Edwards faces a Giants' pass defense this coming weekend that has several injuries in their secondary. Fantasy owners in Dynasty or large Keeper Leagues should add him to your roster prior to their league's deadlines as a possible sleeper for next year and he could be a decent start in week sixteen if your league starts 2 QBs.

MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%

After missing the past few games with an injury, Garcia returned on Sunday to lead the Buccaneers to a win over the Falcons. He was only 15 of 25 for 109 yards, with 1 TD, plus 1 interception; however, Tampa Bay jumped out to a big lead and ran the ball most of the game. He faces a terrible San Francisco team this week and he is still available in most leagues, so if you are desperate for a QB, consider adding Garcia to your roster.

MyFantasyLeague availability: 30.66%

Since returning from an injury, Garrard has led Jacksonville to victories in four out of their last five games. In that span of games, Garrard has thrown for 1169 yards and 10 TDs, with only 2 interceptions. He is having a good season and although it is late in the year, fantasy owners are starting to take notice of him. He faces a tough matchup against Oakland's #5 pass defense this coming week, but he is playing at home and he is worth picking up if you are in need of a QB.

MyFantasyLeague availability: 95.9%

With Matt Schaub still out with an injury, Sage Rosenfels remains the starting QB for the Texans. In his last three games, he has thrown for 594 yards, 5 TDs, 2 interceptions, plus he has 1 rushing TD. I would keep an eye on Schaub's status for this week's upcoming game, but if Rosenfels is the starter again, he could give fantasy owners desperate for a QB someone worth picking up for a roster spot this week (even against the tough Colts' pass defense).

MyFantasyLeague availability: 97.88%

Jesse Chatman was inactive again this past weekend, allowing Sam Gado to get another start at RB for the Dolphins. Gado had 18 carries for 43 yards, plus a TD and 2 receptions for 6 yards in the upset win over Baltimore. In his previous start in week fourteen, Gado only got 12 carries for 52 yards, but he had 2 rushing TDs. The Dolphins have a very tough matchup at New England in week sixteen and Chatman's status is still unclear at this time, but if you are desperate for a RB, then fantasy owners can consider adding Gado to their rosters.
