Early inactives: DeSean Jackson, Bernard Scott
There are a couple of injured-but-relevant fantasy options whose week 13 status will not come down to a Sunday morning decision: Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson and Cincinnati Bengals running back Bernard Scott. Both players didn't practice all week and have been ruled out. Jackson has been feeling the effects of the concussion he suffered last week against Washington. Scott will be unable to go because of a bout of turf toe, which popped up in the Bengals' week 12 win against Cleveland.
Fantasy Analysis:
The Eagles did the smart (if not expected) thing with Jackson. Jackson said earlier in the week that he didn't think he could play Sunday after blacking out in the Redskins game. With him inactive, Jason Avant and Jeremy Maclin are in line to get more targets. I think both are very usable this week against the Falcons' horrible pass defense.
Scott's turf toe was initially described as minor, but that was apparently premature. Turf toe injuries can wreak havoc for running backs and linger for a long time. So there is a chance that Scott will not be as effective as he has been for the rest of this season. Cedric Benson will return to his starting job for the Bengals this week. He is a must-start against the Detroit Lions. Larry Johnson will be his primary backup and will probably get a few carries. But even after his 100-yard outing last week, I'm not a believer in him this week (even as a flex play in excessively deep leagues).
