Mike Sims-Walker expects to play Thursday
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker practiced fully on Tuesday and expects to play Thursday night against the Indianapolis Colts. Sims-Walker didn't practice Monday and was doubtful to play this past week due to a strained calf, but he played anyway and caught just one pass for six yards.
Fantasy Analysis:
Walker has burned his fantasy owners in the past couple weeks with consecutive one-catch efforts. Last week, he probably shouldn't have played, but he played obviously hurt. Now, there are probably a lot of fantasy owners who aren't trusting him for this Thursday's game, but I think Sims-Walker is a mighty fine play if he is healthy -- and it sounds pretty positive so far. The Colts' pass defense is pretty bad right now, to put it lightly. We all saw what Brandon Marshall did to them on Sunday -- 21 catches, 200 yards, two touchdowns. But even before this game, the Colts had been horrible against the pass for the past five weeks. So quarterback David Garrard may even be a guy you could consider using this week. Plus, with Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis probably out, Garrard should have plenty of time to find Sims-Walker. I think Sims-Walker is a top-15 fantasy wide receiver in week 15.
