Calvin Johnson doesn't practice Thursday
You don't often see players practice one day and then miss practice completely, but that's the story with Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson. He did not practice with the team Thursday after participating in Wednesday's practice, albeit in limited fashion. It is assumed that his balky knee is still giving him problems. Johnson has been battling knee injuries for most of the season, but has played in the Lions' last six games after missing two -- Oct. 18 against Green Bay and Nov. 1 against St. Louis. He has also been bothered by a hand ailment in recent weeks. Right now, his status for Sunday's game against Arizona is unclear.
Fantasy Analysis:
Johnson hasn't looked fully healthy in game action for quite a while, but he is still a player who needs to be in your lineup if he plays. He gets a ton of targets and a healthy number of them are deep down the field. With Daunte Culpepper slated to get another start in place of the injured Matthew Stafford this week, I still think Johnson is a top-10 fantasy receiver play against the Cardinals. He is just too talented. It is unknown if he suffered a setback in the recovery from his knee injury or if he will practice on Friday. Stay tuned, but you should also expect Johnson to be a game-time decision Sunday.
