Michael Turner, Matt Ryan practice Thursday
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan and running back Michael Turner both returned to practice on Thursday. This is a bit of a surprise after the two players sat out Wednesday's practice and took part in hardly any drills last week, but apparently they are getting better. Both players have missed the team's past two games. On Nov. 29 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ryan suffered a turf toe injury and Turner re-injured his right ankle sprain, which he originally suffered on Nov. 15 against the Carolina Panthers. Both players are hopeful to play Sunday against the New York Jets, but nothing is certain. Turner said about his ankle: "It's still not quite 100 percent, but if it feels like that, there would be no question that I will be playing."
Fantasy Analysis:
I'll be a lot more encouraged when/if both of these players practice Friday. Now, even if both were to start against the Jets, they wouldn't be the greatest of fantasy plays. Really, only one of them would be a smart start in fantasy. Ryan would be facing the league's top-ranked pass defense and really, he hasn't been anything special in the second of half the season. I wouldn't play him this week, regardless of his game-time status. Turner's value would be lessened with the presence of Jerious Norwood and Jason Snelling, but in week 15, it's the fantasy playoffs. If Turner is healthy enough to start, you probably need to get him into your lineup. His upside would be too much to ignore in 10-team leagues.
