Percy Harvin AND Sidney Rice miss practice
It isn't much of a surprise that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin missed his fifth consecutive practice Thursday due to continuing migraines. However, now teammate Sidney Rice is missing practice time due to an undisclosed illness. Harvin, who didn't practice or play at all last week against Cincinnati, has not been able to practice since Dec. 4 due to the migraines. Harvin visited doctors on Monday. Asked if Harvin will continue to see doctors this week or if there is only so much they can do, head coach Brad Childress said: "Only so much right now. We feel like we've got a decent plan in place." The absence of Harvin and Rice from the practice field meant the Vikings were missing a combined 115 catches for 1,756 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Vikings play Sunday night versus the Carolina Panthers.
Fantasy Analysis:
With Harvin, he's going to continue to be day-to-day. That's just the nature of the ailment. Although, he is beginning to look doubtful for Sunday night's game. Rice, who is a must-start if he plays, remains a mystery. He is listed on the injury report as having an illness, but that leaves a lot of room for speculation. Hey, the St. Louis Rams had to cancel Thursday practice due to cases of swine flu among the players ... you never know! But again, that's baseless speculation. I guess we'll know more on Friday.
