New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez to start Week 15
ESPN's Sportscenter has just reported that Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez has been named the starting quarterback this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. Sanchez missed the team's last game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a knee injury. Sanchez suffered the injury in the second-half of a 19-13 win on the road versus the Buffalo Bills.
Fantasy Analysis:
Veteran running back Thomas Jones has put the team on his back this season and carried the load, rushing for 1167 yards and 11 touchdowns and is the centerpiece in the Jets' offense. Although the Jets did not need Sanchez' services in a 26-3 rout week 14 versus Tampa Bay, his return is much needed and a major upgrade from quarterback Kellen Clemens. The Jets' passing offense has not been spectacular lately, but Sanchez returning to the starting lineup should help dramatically. The Falcons come in ranked 30th against the pass, but will have the services of Matt Ryan and Michael Turner. On the season, Sanchez has thrown for 2,049 yards, 11 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. The rookie quarterback is projected to throw for approximately 200 yards and one touchdown pass. Look for Sanchez to pickup where he left off as the Jets are in a must-win situation this Sunday at the Meadowlands.
