Chester Taylor will be the Bears' goal-line running back

If Jay Cutler had allowed his team to come close to the end zone more than once during Sunday's embarrassment versus the Washington Redskins, you may have seen Chester Taylor take the carries. Offensive coordinator Mike Martz said after the game Taylor will be the Bears' goal-line runner going forward. He failed on his only attempt from the 1-yard line this season, but starter Matt Forte @MattForte22 is 0 for 6 in such situations. "Chester is a great goal-line and short-yardage runner," Martz told the team's official Web site. "He's a low, powerful back and he's the guy that we'll use for that." Taylor is having an underwhelming season after signing a four-year, $12.5 million contract in the offseason. He is averaging 3.6 yards per rush and hasn't scored.

Fantasy Analysis:

Taylor's fantasy value gets an upgrade, but it's not much. He's not being used a whole lot and even when the Bears get inside the 5, that offensive line isn't going to provide many lanes through which to run. Forte is still the majority leader in this backfield and remains a good-but-inconsistent RB2. He has scored six times already and only one of those came from inside the 5. This news has negligible impact on Forte's value. Chicago's plainly dumb O-line and Cutler's penchant for turnovers is a bigger concern.
