Larry Johnson's season expected to be over

After a lackluster season to-date and non-specific information floating around concerning Johnson's foot injury, Kansas City finally announced that Johnson's injury did involve a fracture. A Lisfranc fracture to be exact. This type of injury involves a painful fracture of the mid-foot and can require surgery and significant rehabilitation. We saw this with Kevin Jones. Jones's recovery was extensive, but he has returned to action and has been productive. Reports state that Johnson will not undergo surgery, meaning that his fracture might be less significant or non-displaced. This is good news as recovery will potentially take less time. However, at this point assume that Johnson is done for the year. It is time to dump Johnson from your roster and start shopping for a RB replacement. You will not find this in Priest Holmes, as he now appears to be set for retirement after starting 2 KC games and re-injuring his neck. Basically, the KC running game is in trouble, so jump ship while you still can. Kolby Smith could be a factor, but time will tell.
