Vikings RB Adrian Peterson practices Wednesday

Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said earlier this week that running back Adrian Peterson was "very close" to playing against the Detroit Lions last week. And that showed on Wednesday. Peterson was on the field practicing Wednesday as he continues to progress from his high-ankle sprain. Barring a setback, Peterson is expected to play Sunday versus the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Analysis:

It was a fun ride while it lasted with Toby Gerhart. Really, it was fun. The dude is not an exciting player to watch, but he's a determined runner and put up double-digit fantasy points in each of the three games he started in place of Peterson. But with Peterson back in the fold, Gerhart goes back on your bench and the Vikings' Obviously, you're starting Peterson if he's active on Sunday with zero trepidation. Peterson's presence means a few less touches for Percy Harvin, but he's still a fine start as well.
