Bengals WR Jerome Simpson gets 15 days in jail for pot bust

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jerome Simpson @rome089 pled guilty to a felony drug charge and was sentenced Thursday to 15 days in jail. He was also placed on three years probation and is required to complete 200 hours of community service. The sentence came after Simpson accepted a plea deal in March, admitting that did accept a package carrying more than two pounds of marijuana at his house in September 2011.
"I want to apologize to my family, the community that looks up to me, the Bengals organization, the Commonwealth, and my teammates," Simpson said shortly before sentencing. "I made a poor decision, and I've learned a very, very important lesson going through this. Because of this, I am a better person."
Simpson was expected to turn himself in Thursday night and start serving his jail time immediately.

Fantasy Analysis:

I know this note states twice that Simpson is a Bengals wideout, but he's actually a free agent who hasn't had much of any buzz around him on the market. This certainly won't help, and while it's hard to forecast what his fantasy value will look like for the 2012 season, the team that takes a chance on Simpson should be prepared when the NFL hands him a four-game suspension.
