With a bunch of big-name, big-school wide receivers on the board Friday, the St. Louis Rams reached into the FCS for the first pick of the second round. They drafted Appalachian State wideout Brian Quick
with the 33rd overall pick.
Fantasy Analysis:
Quick certainly looks the part -- 6-foot-3, 220 pounds. He ran a 4.55 40-yard dash at the combine. He is long and athletic. And yes, some scouts have written that Quick is ... quick ... in his routes. He is known for his explosiveness, which is something the Rams don't really have among their WR corps. However, being from Appalachian State means that Quick will need some time to fully make the jump to such a raised talent level. But he could be a fantasy factor within a season or two. The likes of Greg Salas
, Danny Amendola
, Brandon Gibson
, etc, don't possess the game-changing physical traits that Quick possesses. He's a player to keep on your radar in dynasty leagues.
