Wide receiver Jabar Gaffney
spent three seasons during his athletic prime with the New England Patriots. Now 31 years old, he's going back. Gaffney signed a two-year deal with New England on Wednesday. He actually p the triple crown among Washington Redskins wideouts last season, leading the team in receptions, yards and receiving touchdowns. However, he'll likely have a much lesser role with the reigning AFC champs.
Fantasy Analysis:
Gaffney caught a total 85 passes in his 43 regular-season games with the Patriots from 2006-08. Now he's older and is behind at least Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski in the pecking order for targets. Plus, the Pats still have Deion Branch
and brought in a couple other veteran WRs during the offseason. Gaffney is used to the Patriots' system, but he will have very, very little fantasy value this season. The Redskins, with the additions of Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan, should be no worse without him.
