No surprise here: Robert Griffin III
will be the Washington Redskins' first-team quarterback when OTAs begin in a couple of weeks. Head coach Mike Shanahan made the announcement Sunday. The Redskins traded up to select Griffin in the draft at No. 2, giving the St. Louis Rams their first-round pick in 2012, 2013 and 2014 as well as a 2012 second-round pick in return.
Fantasy Analysis:
So right now, there will be no camp competition for RGIII against Rex Grossman or Kirk Cousins
. Nor do I think there will be at any time. This is Griffin's team, and the Redskins feel comfortable giving him the reins from the jump. I think Trent Richardson should be highest-drafted rookie in fantasy drafts this summer, but among the new QBs, I expect Griffin to best Andrew Luck in fantasy because of his tremendous speed and the higher quality of his receiving options.
