Chad Ochocinco had zero fantasy value with the New England Patriots last season. We don't know if he'll have any value in 2012, but if he does, it won't come with the Pats. After failing to trade him Thursday, New England has cut the 34-year-old wide receiver. Ochocinco gave his thanks via his Twitter account.
"Thoroughly enjoyed the oppurtunity to play for the Patriot organization... fans were [freaking] wicked awesome, I wish all of you the best...," he wrote.
Ochocinco caught 15 passes in 15 games for 278 yards and a single touchdown last season. He recorded a total of one reception during the team's three playoff games.
Fantasy Analysis:
But kiddies, be forewarned before you click that source link: Ocho didn't exactly say "freaking."
Some other NFL team will give Chad a chance and make him work for a roster spot. Whomever signs him will convice himself that Ochocinco struggled in 2011 because he was unable to learn the Patriots' offense. Maybe he'll do more in a different system. But at his age, Ochocinco is way, way over the hill. Moving along ....
