Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew
does not plan to attend the team's mandatory minicamp this week. Jones-Drew could be fined up to $60,000 for not participating in this minicamp. In 2009, he signed a five-year, $30.95 million contract. He is scheduled to earn $4.45 million this year and $4.95 million next year. General manager Gene Smith said that the team has no intention of renegotiating.
Fantasy Analysis:
Few offenses rely so heavily on the contributions of one player. Jones-Drew has compiled 5,405 all-purpose yards and 34 touchdowns in the last three seasons. Even though he's been so consistent, Jones-Drew is still a great value pick at the backend of the first round of your fantasy draft. If drafting this early, owners have to just hope for the best. Players very rarely holdout in the end.
