Sports Illustrated writer Peter King wrote that Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall
"should miss at least the first six games of the season." This news item appeared in his long-form Monday Morning QB article and was not supported with a source although Steelers GM Kevin Colbert did say recently that Mendenhall may begin the year on the physically unable to perform list.
Fantasy Analysis:
Mendenhall tore the ACL in his right knee on New Year's Day in a game against the Cleveland Browns. He has since been rehabbing, with most reports coming out saying that the team expected him to play (at some point) during the 2012 season. News is beginning to trickle out that Mendenhall won't be available at the start of the season. This now gives backup back Isaac Redman
a tremendous boost in fantasy value.
