Colts RB Donald Brown: Every-down back

You may not believe it, but that's what Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said about his fourth-year running back.
"Donald is an every down back," Pagano said. "He is doing a tremendous job and he is having a fantastic offseason. He understands, especially on third down as far as protections go and all of those things. Nothing is going to be more important than protections."
Brown had his most productive year as an NFL'er in 2011. He rushed for 645 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 4.8 yards per carry, a career high.

Fantasy Analysis:

Good ol' coachspeak. Pagano talks his guy up, and then goes on to describe him as basically a third-down player who is really good at blocking. Brown has the most talent of any Indy RB. He's a fine receiver and should end up with the most carries on that team. But he won't have a wide majority; he won't be a "bell cow." The Colts just signed an older, yet similar player in Mewelde Moore. And they have a couple of backs -- Delone Carter @DeloneCarter and rookie Vick Ballard -- who would be best used in short-yardage and goal-line situations. Brown should be drafted as a reserve in 12-team leagues.

Protecting Luck is priority 1. If brown is the best bet to offer that, he'll be in the backfield most downs. That makes him at least a # 2 fantasy RB.
