Philadelphia Eagles backup running back Dion Lewis
was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with a felony, falsely reporting a fire, and a misdemeanor, reckless endangerment. At about 4 a.m., Lewis and his brother banged on the locked lobby doors of a Hampton Inn in Albany, N.Y. Police say the brothers were intoxicated and shook the doors "with such force as to rock them and nearly break them from their hinges." The brothers then pulled the fire alarm outside the lobby. Lewis was arraigned and then released. He released a statement through the Eagles on Monday.
"I am sorry for any embarrassment and inconvenience that my actions have caused," part of the statement read. "I am committed to continuing to conduct myself in conformance with the high moral, ethical and professional standards that I have my entire life and of which so many others rightly expect of me."
Fantasy Analysis:
I guess that's one of the differences between a perennial All-Pro and a second-stringer. News of Adrian Peterson's arrest hits the wires a few hours after it occurs. A much less productive man in the exact same line of work is arrested at about the same time period, and we don't hear about it for two days. Oh well. Lewis has no fantasy value unless LeSean McCoy gets injured. He'll have to work a little harder to show that he deserves such a role after this incident.
