Elvis Dumervil
, defensive end for the Denver Broncos, was arrested on charges of felony assault following a possible road rage incident in Miami on Saturday, July 15, 2012.
Fantasy Analysis:
This isn't good news for a Broncos team that is looking to repeat as AFC West champions in 2012. Dumervil is a talented defensive end who anchors a solid Broncos defensive front. If he is convicted, his absence could spell trouble for a defense looking to start out 2012 just as strong as it finished in 2011. Dumervil had 42 tackles (31 solo, 11 assists) and 9.5 sacks in 2011. Dumervil remains a focal point for opposing offenses as he has compiled over 50 sacks in just 5 NFL seasons. The Broncos finished the 2011 season tied with the 10th most sacks in the league (41), and Dumervil accounted for 22% of them. Loosing him for the 2012 season would be a hard pill to swallow for the Broncos; especially in a very winnable AFC West division.
