Dez Bryant
, wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, was arrested Monday on a family violence charge. Immediate details have been unavailable, and Bryant's agent has declined comment on the incident. Police officials in DeSoto stated that the situation occurred on Saturday; however, Bryant turned himself in to the police on Monday and posted bond. This was confirmed by Bryant himself on WFAA-TV. This is Bryant's second run in with police in the last 6 months. Back in January, Bryant and members of rapper Lil Wayne's entourage had an altercation outside Club LIV nightclub in Miami.
Fantasy Analysis:
This is unfortunate news one day after Bryant claimed that he felt quicker and was coming out of breaks faster. Considering the fact that Bryant had a lingering thigh injury all of last season and still posted over 900 yards and 9 touchdowns, "feeling quicker" and "breaking faster" would obviously point to a career season in the making. If only he was making positive strides in his off-field endeavors as well. At this point, I think fantasy managers need to wait until all of the details have surfaced. Two incidents in roughly six months does nothing to quench the sour taste many will be feeling in the fourth round come draft day. For those drafts starting up in the summer, draft Bryant as a WR2.
