If you are counting chips, consider NFL Hall of Fame WR Jerry Rice "all in" when it comes to the bandwagon party for Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones
. Rice, appearing on ESPN's Sports Center said "I love this kid. He's awesome. He's big, he's fast, I think he's gonna have a breakout season this coming year." While this isn't earth-shattering news Rice, as former fantasy football super stud, is a voice of experience.
Fantasy Analysis:
First year offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, who comes over from Arizona State via the Jacksonville Jaguars, is promising an attack style offense that will see the Falcons get vertical in 2012. Falcons WR Roddy White
led the league with 179 targets last season. Jones was second in Atlanta with 94 looks (in 13 games played), while Harry Douglas
garnered 62.
If the decreased role for RB Michael Turner goes as planned, look for a split in targets that will be close to 150-150 between the dynamic dual of Jones and White. Atlanta opens their training camp on July 28 in Flowery Branch, GA. We'll be watching to see if the Falcons aerial attack will soar as scheduled during the 2012 NFL season.
