Bleacher Report is asking whether or not newly acquired WR Robert Meachem is ready to be the No. 1 option for the San Diego Chargers.
Fantasy Analysis:
If 5th year veteran WR Robert Meachem was looking for the perfect situation in 2012, he found it. Meachem was the number 27 pick in the 2007 NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints. Meachem has been a very consistent WR in a Saints system that had multiple weapons like TE Jimmy Graham and WR's Marques Colston and Lance Moore
. In the past 3 years Meachem has averaged about 600 yards per year and about 6 touchdowns. Meachem has also played in every game during the time period. Meachem is considered the number one option for San Diego in 2012 and with talented quarterback Phillip Rivers throwing to him, Meachem should have the breakout season that has been looming for him the past 3 years. The lack of WR competition in San Diego should make Meachem one the top potential breakout players for fantasy leagues in all formats. I can see Meachem as a solid WR3 in smaller leagues and a solid WR2 in deep leagues. Meachem is listed as the 27th ranked WR on fftoolbox.com's 2012 fantasy player ranker.
