'Team insiders' say Jets will turn to QB Tim Tebow in red zone

Maybe we've got some clarification on how the New York Jets specifically plan to use Tim Tebow @TimTebow this season. ESPN's Rich Cimini wrote Thursday that "team insiders say the plan is to use Tebow in the red zone, where they can replace Sanchez with another player/blocker to bolster the running game."

Fantasy Analysis:

For fantasy purposes, this is basically bad news for everyone involved except Tebow. Mark Sanchez @Mark_Sanchez will throw fewer touchdowns. Santonio Holmes @santonio10 will catch fewer passes and touchdowns -- I'm sure he'll love that. Same goes for Dustin Keller @DUSTINKELLER81. Shonn Greene will lose those valuable goal-line carries. Now, it could mean 12-15 scores for Tebow, but he's not going to see more than 15-20 snaps per game. Tebow won't be starter-worthy in a 12-team league unless (until) he gets the starting job. It's looking like a bad year to own a Jet.

Not if you play in a 2 (team qb) league, The Jets Team QB has been my sneaky late round steal since they signed him. Nobody will go out of their way to draft Sanchez early. Their all focused on Brady,Newton,Brees, Rodgers among the top 12 rated qb's. After that they wait until later in the draft to grab a qb. Ill stock up on rb/wr with my first 6-8 picks and settle for Jets and SF team qb's.

I have never been in a team-QB league, much less a two team-QB league. But yes, I suppose that is a plausible plan.

what if espn or yahoo list him as qb/rb at some point in preseason.

I think that's unprecedented. It would certainly have a big impact on Tebow's value, but let's cross that bridge if/when we come to it.

I'm considering drafting Tebow late 10+ round as my backup QB. I think it is worth it especially if I have a top 7 QB already on board. Thoughts?

I would definitely not do that. If you want a QB2, you should have guys such as Luck, Flacco, Freeman, or even Schaub and others available to you. To make Tebow, a guy who won't start, may be on the field for only 20-30 snaps per game and doesn't have a solidified role on the team, your backup quarterback would be a big mistake.
