Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall
has tried to make strides in turning his life around. Now he's doing what he can to improve his football life.
"I'm focused ... (the) most focused I've ever been in my professional career," Marshall told Chicago Tribune reporter Vaughn McClure on Tuesday. "... Very excited, but at the same time, ready to get the job done."
Fantasy Analysis:
Marshall's totals weren't that bad in Miami. They just weren't Beast-like. In two full seasons with Jay Cutler as his QB from 2007-2008, Marshall registered at least 100 receptions, 1,250 yards and six touchdowns. This Bears offense won't throw it as often under Mike Tice as it did under Mike Martz, but Tice did say Monday that this group will have plenty of 'explosiveness,' which should mean no shortage of targets for Marshall. Hopefully his new level of focus will help him stop the drops as Marshall has let a league-high 35 passes slip through his hands over the past three seasons. FFToolbox has given Marshall an appropriate ranking of No. 16 among an incredibly deep field of quality wide receivers. I think he'll be a fine WR2, but he has WR1 upside with Cutler.
