The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Steelers have suspended contract talks with unsigned restricted free agent Mike Wallace
until he signs his one-year $2.472 million tender and reports to the team.
Fantasy Analysis:
Wallace has been threatening a hold-out all offseason. Rumors earlier on Wednesday had the 2 sides close to a deal, but both sides have stepped back from the table. The Steelers had an offer on the table, but it was not to Wallace's liking. The 25 year old is looking for a 5-yr, $42 millioin contract from Pittsburgh. This holdout could go on for quite a while as it seems both sides seem to be holding firm. With the Steelers switching to a new offense, it would be if both parties best interests to get this done and Wallace into camp to learn the new system. It is worth noting that even though Wallace was not a camp he did stop by to pick up his playbook. His one year tender on the table is for $2.7 million.
