Steelers give WR Antonio Brown 5-year contract

Wide receiver Mike Wallace @Wallace17_daKid is staying away from Pittsburgh Steelers training camp, so the team decided to financially sate a dangerous offensive weapon who is actually in attendance. The Steelers and wide receiver Antonio Brown @AntonioBrown84 agreed to terms on a five-year extension Friday, reportedly worth $42.5 million.
Brown was Pittsburgh's second-best receiver last season, finishing with 69 catches and 1,108 receiving yards. He earned a trip to the Pro Bowl and became the first player in league history to record 1,000 yards receiving and 1,000 yards returning in a season.

Fantasy Analysis:

Consider this signing to be a loud message for Mike Wallace, one that probably makes him even more unhappy. Talks between him and the team have broken down, and he absolutely does not want to play under his $2.7 million tender offer. So instead of showing him the money, the Steelers back up the truck for his teammate, who has just one productive season under his belt. Besides the obvious result of locking up an explosive 24-year-old dual threat, this signing was done in an effort to force Wallace's hand. Yet, it doesn't sound like he's going to budge, and some beat reporters around the team have speculated that the Steelers might trade Wallace if he doesn't get into camp.
Brown is currently being drafted in the mid-20s among WRs, according to FFToolbox's ADP chart. But he should jump over a few counterparts currently in front of him the longer Wallace holds out.
