After a very brief one day holdout, the Miami Dolphins and rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill
agreed to terms on a four-year, $12.69 million contract. The deal also includes a $7.65 million signing bonus. The former Texas A&M prospect will compete with veteran quarterbacks Matt Moore and David Garrard for the starter's spot now that training camp has officially begun.
Fantasy Analysis:
For what it's worth, Tannehill is older than Cam Newton at 24 years old and should be further along as a quarterback. Unfortunately, Miami is very thin at wide receiver and it's likely best for Tannehill to develop on the bench as opposed to be thrown on the field early in his career. Should the Dolphins season take a turn for the worse, it's perfectly feasible for him to earn some playing time but for fantasy purposes, he's best left to the waiver wire excluding dynasty leagues.
