Arizona Cardinals running back Ryan Williams
(knee) will sit out Sunday's preseason opening Hall of Fame game against the New Orleans Saints. Williams is one offseason removed from a patellar tendon tear. "I'm not going to play, maybe catch the next one" he told the Arizona Republic. "I'm in no rush to get back on the knee. I'm just chilling. Rehab is going well. It's just not worth it to risk it in a game that doesn't mean that much."
Fantasy Analysis:
Both Beanie Wells and Williams are banged up and it would definitely be a mistake to rush either player. Williams had a promising beginning to OTAs and training camp last season before having his season end due to injury. Although he is a high risk selection, Williams has been a popular sleeper pick because of Wells' inconsistency and injury-riddled past. Further back on the depth chart, the team will be relying on running backs LaRod Stephens-Howling
and Alfonso Smith
.
