Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best
may hold the undesirable distinction of being the poster child for concussions in today's NFL. Head coach Jim Schwartz told MLive.com that "(Best is) not day-to-day. . . We're measuring his progress in weeks. He's doing very well . . . working very hard. He's in supreme condition, and I know this, when he's cleared, he's going to be tough to handle because he'll be ready."
Fantasy Analysis:
Kevin Smith
should be higher on your fantasy draft board. Obviously Smith has his own injury concerns, but Best has been dealing with serious concussion issues for many, many years now. Second year back Mikel Leshoure
(Achilles) was cleared to begin training camp on time last week and has a lot to prove. For now though, Best has five weeks before the season begins and may be worth a mid-round flier should he start to slip. His average draft position has been plummeting all season long.
