Giants WR Hakeem Nicks still a week away

New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks plans on running routes either Saturday or Monday. He's been dealing with his surgically repaired broken foot. Nicks told reporters that after he begins running, he'll need about a week before he's ready to practice. His availability for the season opener is unknown and it's still to early to say.

Fantasy Analysis:

Nicks seems to be one of those players who is always dinged up which is what makes him a risky fantasy option. Victor Cruz @TeamVic has all the hype right now, but a fully healthy Nicks is this team's true No. 1 receiver. Nicks could be a low-end WR1 in some leagues, but he's a very elite WR2. His average draft position places him as an early fourth round pick. If he falls below that point, consider him a serious value in spite of his injury concerns.
