Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb
was hit hard and landed awkwardly during their preseason opener. The diagnosis is bruised ribs and for now, the team is optimistic about his return later in the week. Head coach Ken Whinsenhunt told reporters after the game that "[Kolb] has a bruise in his chest that makes it kind of tough to rotate, move. I think he'll probably be practicing sometime this week."
Fantasy Analysis:
It wouldn't be Kolb without another injury it seems. Kolb missed nearly half of the 2011 season and in his place, John Skelton played admirably at times. The Cardinals already had a bit of a quarterback controversy on their hands as both Skelton and Kolb were competing to be the starter. Although Kolb is the early favorite, Skelton did lead Arizona to a 5-2 record in the games he started last season.
