Coach Pat Shurmur announced Monday that QB Brandon Weeden
will begin the season as the Browns starting quarterback.
Fantasy Analysis:
This comes as a surprise to nobody. Colt McCoy
was a failed experiment at quarterback and did not have the arm strength or accuracy to be a dependable quarterback. When the Browns selected the Oklahoma State product at #22 in the NFL draft the writing was on the wall. Weeden has more accuracy and a stronger arm than Colt McCoy and he could actually help instill some life into a poor passing offense. With the Browns selections of Trent Richardson at running back and Josh Gordan at wide receiver this has the beginnings of some potential for the offense. With Greg Little
in his second year they all have a chance to grow together and they could become a force in a few years. I still don't believe he is draftable this season in redraft leagues, but in keeper leagues Weeden, Little, and Gordan are all sneaky picks.
