RB Evan Royster will be Redskins' starter in first preseason game

Tim Hightower @Tim_Hightower is atop the Washington Redskins' initial running back depth chart, but since his surgically repaired knee still isn't healthy enough to play, second-year pro Evan Royster @Evan_Royster will get the start Thursday night at Buffalo. Royster will get the call over Roy Helu @royhelujr29, who the Redskins reportedly see as more of a change-of-pace runner.
Royster played in six games last season, rushing for 328 yards and two touchdowns on 56 carries. He also caught 10 passes for 76 yards.

Fantasy Analysis:

Do I believe Helu is better than Royster? Yes. He's better than Hightower, too. And this is probably another round of Shanahan being Shanahan. We know the deal, and we'll have to deal with it all season long.
But I wanted to write about this to use Royster as an example. My point: Don't worry about depth charts right now. Really, I don't care that Royster is going to start this game. I don't care that Matt Flynn getting to start the Seahawks' first preseason game. I certainly don't care that LeGarrette Blount and Stephen Hill are listed as starters on their respective teams. It's just way too early. So many things will happen over the next few weeks, these current depth charts are basically meaningless, and teams put them out only because they are required to. Wait until at least after the second preseason game to put an iota of stock into these things. Please.
