Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas
recently had knee surgery. The team clarified that this is not the same injury that Delmas sustained during last year's Thanksgiving game against the Green Bay Packers. Delmas was limited in practice last week and did not practice at all this week. The Lions' secondary already lost cornerback Eric Wright to Tampa Bay via free agency and cornerback Aaron Berry was released following an arrest last month.
Fantasy Analysis:
Delmas wasn't a factor in IDP leagues but this injury only further degrades Detroit's defensive secondary. Detroit had one of the top fantasy defensive units in the league last season. The Lions defensive line continues to be a point of strength but losing Delmas is a serious problem. Safety Erik Coleman
is second on the depth chart and only played in four games last season.
