ESPN Cleveland is reporting the corberback Joe Haden
is facing a 4 game suspension for violating the league's policy against steriods and related substances.
Fantasy Analysis:
This is a major blow for an underrated Cleveland Browns defense that finished 5th in total points against and 2nd in passing yards against in 2011. Joe Haden is an elite cornerback and most teams do not challenge him often. With injuries already to DT Phil Taylor, SS T.J. Ward and LB Chris Gocong, and a suspension to LB Scott Fujita the defense is fighting an uphill battle. This reportedly may be a failed test for the drug Adderal, which is a banned substance in the NFL. If Haden could prove that he was prescribed Adderal he might be able to get a reduced suspension or get it lifted entirely. The Browns cornerback could also choose to appeal the suspension and it could get held up until a final verdict was determined. The Browns defense should be knocked down many spots and this hurts the IDP status of Haden quite a bit.
