Second year wide receiver Vincent Brown
led his team with four receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown during the San Diego Chargers win against the Green Bay Packers. Head coach Norv Turner told reporters, "(Brown) has grown up, and we all know he's got ability. A year ago, like all the rookies, he had no work during the offseason because of the lockout... He's had a great offseason, he's in the middle of having an outstanding training camp, and he obviously is a playmaker so he's a guy that's going to figure real strongly in what we do."
Fantasy Analysis:
It's typical that coaches heap praise onto their young players at this time of the year. Many consider Brown to be a potential breakout player, especially now that he's had a year's worth of experience. For now though, Brown is slotted as the team's No. 4 receiver behind Robert Meachem, Malcom Floyd and Eddie Royal
. If it were a foregone conclusion that Philip Rivers was going to have a big, rebound season and put up huge numbers, then it would be easier to think of Brown as a potential fantasy sleeper. For now, he's a player with potential that needs to climb the depth chart in order to validate his presence on any fantasy rosters.
