Indianapolis Colts linebacker Pat Angerer broke his foot during Sunday's preseason opener win against the St. Louis Rams. It has been reported that he will miss at least six weeks. He will require surgery, which is why he could be out for longer. Angerer finished the 2011 season with 148 total tackles, the fourth-highest total in the NFL. The six-week timeline means he could miss at least three games.
Fantasy Analysis:
Angerer didn't make many big plays, but he made a whole lot of routine plays. For IDP leagues, this is big news as Angerer is universally considered one of the best young talents. Fellow inside linebacker Kavell Conner will have to step up in a big way. Angerer would now make a nice late-round steal if you don't mind holding onto him while he's injured for a few games. Conner should see a small bump up draft boards.
