Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher
went under the knife on Tuesday. He underwent arthroscopic knee surgery yet is still expected to return for Week 1. With the season beginning in only 26 days, it's no guarantee he'll be ready in time. Urlacher sprained the MCL and PCL in his left knee during the Bears' regular season finale win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Fantasy Analysis:
Urlacher hasn't missed a game since 2009, the season where he went down with a dislocated wrist injury in Week 1 and missed the entire season. Even if he misses a game or two, Urlacher should still be considered a safe IDP option. His numbers dipped last season yet he remains one of the most consistently productive linebackers in the NFL. Unless there's a serious setback, IDP owners should only drop him down their draft boards slightly.
