Denver Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman
finally returned to practice on Saturday after missing most of the opening week of camp, including the first preseason game because of a right hamstring strain. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for that injury to bite him again.
Hillman re-aggravated the injury during Tuesday's practice. Head coach John Fox said this strain isn't quite as severe as the previous one.
Fantasy Analysis:
Easy for Fox to say. It might not be as severe, but with hamstring injuries, it wouldn't be a surprise if it kept Hillman out of camp after for another few days to a week. At the very least, I heavily doubt that he plays in Saturday's game versus Seattle. This is critical missed time for a rookie who is trying to lock down the role of Willis McGahee's backup, and Denver's third-down back. Fortunately for Hillman, Lance Ball
appears to be his only competition for the job, so if Hillman can return in a hurry, he will still have a good chance of winning the gig.
That being said, McGahee is being drafted in the eighth round of a 12-team league, on average. He'll turn 31 in October, but that's way too low for a guy who is a team's undisputed starting RB.
