Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder
wants to complete 75 percent of his passes on first and second down. "That's the number we're shooting for," Ponder told the Star Tribune. "Obviously, we were in a lot of third-and-long situations a year ago, and we want to get out of that." Ponder completed 3 of 6 of his passes during the Vikings' 17-6 preseason loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Fantasy Analysis:
Mum has been the word in regards to Ponder. He may be the least discussed starting quarterback out of his class. The Vikings really underachieved on offense in 2011 and will certainly need Adrian Peterson
back in lineup and fully recovered from his surgically repaired knee. Newly acquired receiver Jerome Simpson
and second-year tight end Kyle Rudolph
must step up and give this offense more options besides Peterson and Percy Harvin
.
