UPDATE: Chargers RB Ryan Mathews says 'no doubt' he will play in Week One

After sustaining a fractured clavicle, the initial reports said San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews @rmathews24 would be out four to six weeks. Yesterday, a third-party doctor told NFL.com that on average, fractured clavicles usually took, on average, 8.8 weeks to recover from. Now, Mathews told XTRA Sports 1360 that he has "no doubt" that he will be ready to play in Week One. He noted that he's out of his sling and feels he's already ahead of schedule.

Fantasy Analysis:

In our ongoing, daily updates concerning Mathews, fantasy owners have to take this thing one day at a time. One day it's four weeks, then eight weeks and so on. In all likelihood, Mathews will be listed as questionable for Week One and will be a game-time decision. Right before kickoff, they'll announce that he's either playing or he isn't. Until then, a lot of this news is generated simply because there is a demand for it and people are talking about it.

My money is on him coming back too soon and having a major setback. Let someone else waste the pick.
